A visit from Tweed Mayor Councillor Barry Longland

On 29th October, 2012, we were honoured to have Tweed Mayor Councillor Barry Longland visit 4/5G.  He spoke about his role as mayor and the responsibilities that come with such a position.  He told us he had just come from a youth forum and explained some of the exciting ideas he had discussed.

The development of Arkinstall Park sounded interesting and he explained that sometimes it is difficult to reach a compromise between various parties.  By taking the time to visit us he demonstrated how much he values visiting schools and listening to the opinions of students.

By answering a range of the student's questions Mr Longland provided valuable information which relates to the students current unit of study on democracy and the Australia Government. The students of 4/5G were  priveleged to have a visit from such a valuable member of our community.  Thank you Tweed Mayor Councillor Barry Longland.
