Softball Gala Day

Wednesday was the Softball Gala Day, for all the schools in our region. For nearly 2 months, many of the students in Years 5 and 6 have been training in their lunch hours to make the teams that would represent our school. The very good news is that all of that hard work paid off.

Both the boys and girls beat their first round opponents and progressed to the next round. Unfortunately, despite valiant efforts in both games, we were unable to make it any further, though both teams played very well.

Everyone who was selected did an outstanding job representing the school both on and off the field, and should be very proud of all they accomplished. We were a few bounces away from playing all day, and you were up there with the best teams from our region. I think some of you might even be dusting off your gloves to try out for the regional representative teams, which is fantastic.

Mrs. Sheriff was instrumental in getting these teams together and making this day happen, and she deserves a great deal of credit. Mr Greenwood was also able to join us, and was a great help organising an excited boys team. A special thanks also goes to the parents who supported the teams, either through driving students to and from the ground or cheering for their team.Girls

I personally loved spending my lunch hours getting out in the sunshine and working with these kids. I could not be happier with their attitude, achievement or effort today and I hope they had as much fun as I did.
