Last Friday K-1C enjoyed a wonderful day of pirate themed activities. Firstly, most of us dressed the part by coming to school in various types of pirate clothing. We were of course very sad to see that our teacher Mrs Campbell had been made to walk the plank and was replaced for the day by a scary looking Captain Campbell.
However, Captain Campbell allowed us to play ‘Pop up Pirate' as one of our literacy activities, we made treasure maps, we spoke about our news in pirate language, we constantly let out random
‘aarghs' throughout the day, and for maths we were blindfolded and played a game of pin the patch on the pirate which was won by Kohan.
We were also very pleased to have raised so much gold – especially by Elijah who brought in his money box (with permission from his mum) and put the whole lot into our loot bag. This money goes to helping less fortunate children who are sick with cancer.
We had fun with Captain Campbell but we were glad to see that Mrs Campbell was back and still healthy on Tuesday. Thank you Captain Campbell for the treasure chest full of loot you left for us.
