Story Dogs is a program where children can read to a dog in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is a volunteer program and K-1W have been very lucky this year to have Gaye and Mango (the beautiful Labrador) visit the classroom each Friday. The children love reading to Mango and it has improved their confidence in reading. Mango gets very excited on Friday morning when Gaye puts her coat on, knowing she is headed into K-1W to see the children. She enjoys the stories the children read and loves the rewards she receives when the children have finished reading. She is smothered with cuddles before she leaves, and is very gentle and loving towards the children. Thank you Gaye and Mango!!
