Tweed Heads South Public School students enjoy gardening during our breaks, we attend the garden and plant Herbs, Vegetables and Flowers. We water and weed every day and when harvest time arrives students will pick and create dishes in our Brekki Club kitchen to share recipes and create master dishes so we can learn how to grow produce and eat healthy.
In September 2016 the THSPS Garden Club Gnomes entered the Banora Point Gardening Club competition where the judges visited our school garden and commented on how awesome the garden was looking and in particular they liked our hay bales that supported the strawberry patch which was all donated by Greg from Banora Point Garden Club.
On Tuesday 11th October we had such a lovely surprise from Greg as he announced that we were the winners in our area and we were awarded a trophy and certificate congratulating us on a garden that we should be proud of and all our hard work has shown all students how much fun it is to create your own garden and to live a healthy lifestyle.
We would like to thank all the members of Banora Point Gardening Club for their valuable advice and lovely donations to help inspire us to keep gardening.
