TEN (Targeted Early Numeracy) is an intervention program that supports learning numeracy in the early years. The program sets clear expectations against the Mathematics K–6 syllabus on what children should be able to do in addition and subtraction by the end of each school year. The aim of TEN is short, focussed, frequent numeracy sessions, typically 10 minute blocks. The activities are strategically targeted, focussing on addition and subtraction where student progress is monitored. The students in K-1W have loved their TEN time, and have enjoyed all the new "games" they have been learning and playing. The students have developed their skills in addition and subtraction and watching their quick progress has been a highlight for Mrs Ware.
