After much hard work from students in the Gardening Team at Tweed Heads South Public School, the flower garden has finally blossomed. Brilliant shades of yellow, purple, red and blue are brightening up our beautiful school garden. Flower varieties include tulips, lavender, marigolds and petunias.
Students volunteer their time throughout the week to plant, grow and pick a variety of vegetables, fruit and herbs available for staff, students and the community to purchase at the regular Thursday afternoon ‘Market Garden'.
Recently the gardening team have been busy potting herb gardens to sell at the P & C Father's Day stall. Our next exciting initiative is to establish a ‘Bush Tucker' garden under the guidance of local renowned expert Franc Krasna. If you have any bush tucker seeds, plants or advice you would like to share with the gardening club please contact Merryl Toop on (07) 5524 3408 or drop by Tweed Heads South Public School, 10 Heffron Street, Tweed Heads South.
