Christine Marshall - Principal, Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and Responsible Person in Charge

Christine is the Relieving Principal of Tweed Heads South Public School, Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and Responsible Person in Charge. An experienced educator, Christine is committed to providing children with a happy, caring and supportive learning environment. She has been recognised for her contribution to promoting great learning outcomes for Aboriginal students as part of a team of teachers honoured with the prestigious Nanga Mai award for the long-standing Yuli Coastal Culture Program on the Tweed Coast.

Gretal French – Assistant Principal Early Learning

Gretal is a university qualified teacher with specialist training in Early Childhood Education. Preschool teaching is her passion because she believes in giving all children the best start in life. Gretal enjoys building the life and learning skills of our Preschoolers as she feels there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s confidence and independence blossom. Gretal is always looking for new opportunities to enhance her knowledge and skills with further learning in her field. She wishes her own garden received as much love and care as the Preschool’s beautiful gardens do.

David Edwards – Educator

David moved to Australia from England in 2006 and qualified as a teacher in 2012. Having taught a variety of classes, David’s passion is setting up children for future success and he is relishing working in the Preschool. He greatly enjoys the rewards of supporting preschoolers as they grow in confidence, knowledge and become increasingly independent. David is currently studying to become a school counsellor and finds the fun of Preschool a wonderful world away from his university commitments.

Jacki Burton – School Learning Support Officer

Jacki believes developing early literacy and numeracy skills in young children is vital for their future learning and looks after our library of books, games and maths resources families can borrow. In her spare time you’ll find Jacki curled up with a book, or down at the beach with her family.

Tom Avery – Aboriginal Education Officer

The kids love it when Tom pops in for his weekly visits to share his culture and knowledge through dance, singing and stories. A proud Kamilaroi and Maori man, Tom has lived on Bundjalung country for 20 years and feels a deep connection to the local community. He has taken Indigenous music and cultural programs to schools across Australia and is now an important part of the Tweed Heads South Public School staff. Salt water runs through this song man’s spirit so if he’s without his guitar, there’s a good chance he’ll have swapped it for his surfboard. Tom is studying to be a teacher.
