Language, learning and literacy

The L3 (Language, Learning and Literacy) program facilitates students in becoming great, successful readers and writers through daily literacy lessons in small groups of three.

Children work on reading and writing skills with the teacher while the other students in the class work with support staff and parent volunteers on Guided Reading, or independently on literacy activities, like the listening post or a sight word game. These small groups are better catered for, with more explicit learning and interaction with the teacher. Each student's progress is consistently collected so that their literacy skills are acquired.

Teachers that implement this program are involved in rigorous professional learning to ensure the program's success.
