Each Thursday, 1-2A and 1-2C get a visit from a few furry friends, Mango and Lilly. Mango and Lily are a part of the organisation, Story Dogs who have played a huge role in our school over the past years.
From each class, three students each week go to visit Mango and Lilly with their owners Margaret and Gaye to read several stories in our school library. The students walk the dogs to the library. Mango and Lilly patiently listen to the students read and return them safely back to class. They are great listeners! We love having a whole class visit just before lunch from the story dogs.
"When children read to a dog, the outcomes are amazing! It's non-judgmental, children's focus improves, literacy skills increase and confidence soars" - Story Dogs Website
