We Love Science

We love Science!!!
Term 3 has proven to be a very exciting time of year for Kindergarten students. This term our literacy focus has been on fairy tales and to coincide with this theme we have engaged in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) challenges. The following photos are a snippet of some of our challenges. They include:-
Making a parachute for Jack so that he can get safely to ground if anything should ever happen to the beanstalk.
Making a gondola for the Gingerbread Man so that he can get across the river without having to hitch a ride with the cunning fox.
Designing and building a bridge for the 3 Billy Goats Gruff to get to the green grass on the other side of the river.
For each challenge the students are limited to what resources they can use and their designs must meet certain standards. For example, when designing and making a ball gown for Cinderella from newspaper and masking tape, the designs had to withstand 20 star jumps.
